Invitation for workshop on sustainable fuels
We hereby cordially invite you to participate in one of two workshops conducted within the Green Fuel Validation Platform under ShippingLab. The objective of these workshops is to assemble an international group of leading shipping industry figures for a discussion on how we address the challenges facing the adoption of sustainable fuel solutions in the maritime sector.
What is the Green Fuel Validation Platform ?
The Green Fuel Validation Platform is a non-profit initiative, which is hosted by ShippingLab and supported by the Danish Maritime Fund. The goal of the platform is to establish a permanent facility for validating emerging, sustainable fuel solutions for use in an international, maritime context.
Behind the validation platform is a number of important stakeholders, namely Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping, Alfa Laval, MAN Energy Solutions, DS Norden and A.P. Møller–Maersk and the supplier of biofuel MASH Energy.
Read more about the platform here.
The purpose of the workshops
In the workshops we will endeavor to map the challenges faced in the adoption of new sustainable fuels – as seen from the perspective of different groups of stakeholders (see table below). Based on this, key “validation points” are to be determined for prospective fuels.
Using the inputs from the workshops, the Green Fuel Validation Platform will start work on establishing validation facilities that can aid in accelerating qualification of- and time to market for green fuel solutions.
